Fall Family photo locations in Albuquerque

When you think of beautiful Fall locations, New Mexico doesn’t usually pop up for most people. But the Fall season does put on a stunning show right here in the old 505 (Albuquerque for you non locals)

The Bosque

The obvious choice for changing leaves and golden colors is the Bosque. This is a favorite for most. The leaves by mid-October are turning from green to yellow. Dirt paths along the Rio Grande are paved with fallen leaves and giant Cotton Wood rees canopy overhead. This location is great for family pictures from May through November.

Los Ranchos Open Space

This city-owned open space is public lands that are farmed. Big fields of alfalfa or wheat are perfect for playful photo sessions for any family. Trees line some of the fields letting glowy filtered light through. With a view of the Sandia Mountain and big New Mexico skies, this is one of my favorite locations from July through November.

The Rio Grande River

When the waters begin to recede and leave big sandy beaches, the Rio Grande is another stunning location to take family photos. After the summer months the foliage lining the banks are high and green. As the weather cools down and Fall moves in, the flora and fauna begin to lean into the golden yellows and browns. This location is stunning from May through November.
