How far do you travel for photo sessions | Alison Hatch Photo

As a photographer, I travel a lot. Sessions in people’s homes or at beautiful locations like Headlands Beach, Balboa Park, Montage Beach Laguna, or Los Penasquitos Canyon Park sometimes require me to travel a ways from home. I am happy to travel and include certain mileage into my package pricing. Here I will lay out the specifics of travel so you can see if the location you’d like for your family photos is a covered cost, or if a small extra fee will be added.

One of the many, many perks of living in North County San Diego is that I am pretty central to the coastline of southern California. I am lucky enough to live in gorgeous Carlsbad so I can travel down south into San Diego proper or up north into Orange County. Travel within one hour’s drive from Carlsbad, CA (about 50 miles) is covered in all of my packages. So if you’d like pictures at Coronado Dog Beach or San Clemente State Beach you are covered, my friend.

So, what if the location you’d like for you next family photos is outside of that one hour boundary? No problem at all. If you are within driving distance, plan on a $50 per 25 miles. If more expansive travel is needed then we can discuss that and figure out a reasonable price for the both of us. Or better yet, come visit! San Diego is one of the top travel destinations in the US. Millions and I mean millions (34 million in 2024) people visit our sunny beach city each year. So plan a trip out and we can get your family photos taken on the beach or one of the other stunning locations that beach cities has to offer.
