Del Mar Photographer | Alison Hatch Photo

Tucked into the golden hills of Del Mar, I spent a dreamy morning photographing a family of five—mom, dad, one bright-eyed boy, and two giggly daughters. We began inside their home, where the light fell gently through the windows and laughter echoed off the walls. The kids danced around barefoot, told me stories about their favorite games, and wrapped their arms around each other in that chaotic, heart-melting way siblings do.

After soaking up the warmth of their home, we wandered outside. Their backyard opened into winding paths and soft earth, and we took our time exploring. It was a calm, overcast day—the kind that makes everything feel a little more intimate. The kind of day where you can breathe deeper and settle into the moment. And that's exactly what we did.

As a Del Mar photographer, this is what I live for. Sessions that feel unhurried and full of feeling. I’m not chasing picture-perfect poses. I’m searching for connection—for truth—for the tiny flashes of tenderness that usually go unseen.

The way your daughter rests her head on your shoulder. The way your son squeezes your hand when he thinks no one’s watching. The way your partner looks at you when you’re not looking. That’s the magic.

Photography, for me, isn’t just about capturing how your family looks. It’s about showing you how deeply you are loved—how beautifully your life is unfolding, even in the ordinary.

This work is personal. My own family story runs deep, and it’s taught me to see with both softness and strength. I bring that heart into every session. I’ll guide you gently, keep things light and natural, and make sure you feel seen—not just as a parent or a partner, but as your full, glorious self.

So if you’re wondering whether now is the right time for photos, let me just say: it is. Your life doesn’t have to be polished to be worthy of being art. The realness is the beauty.

If you’re looking for a Del Mar photographer who will hold space for you and your story, you’re in the right place. My sessions are soulful, a little playful, and always meaningful. You’ll walk away with more than just photos—you’ll walk away with a piece of your life held still, forever.
